Personal project 02 / Writing & print

Family Newspaper

Family Newspaper turns notes and photos into articles, then lays them out as a newspaper. The finished edition can be read on a phone or printed on A4.

News from Home, an English newspaper rendered by the app with fictional stories and synthetic landscape illustrations.
Actual app output from a fresh fictional issue. English sample text and synthetic illustrations; no personal stories or photographs.

From notes to an edition

This personal project combines writing, photo editing and newspaper layout in a local application. Each article keeps its source notes alongside editable wording and photos. Optional AI drafting produces proposals to review, accept or discard.

New photos can be added without rewriting an article. Captions are edited manually, and the user can change photo order, crop and the front-page lead.

Keep the edited words

The print and phone layouts use the edited article text. Long articles continue across pages rather than being shortened to fit. The app measures page layout before exporting PDFs with selectable text.

Save and return

Autosave and browser recovery help preserve edits. Portable ZIP backups include editable content, so an edition can be restored and worked on again.

The application runs locally. Optional AI writing sends selected inputs to the configured provider; ordinary preview and export do not need AI.

Current status

Completed and operated locally, with editable editions and A4 and phone PDF exports.
